A very popular pink Peony that
gardeners have adored for decades. This old fashioned type Peony adds charm to any garden.
The giant, double flowers are the same color pink as apple blossoms. Foliage
is a very dark green and remains attractive all season. Sarah Bernhardt is one of
the most reliable and heaviest blooming peonies we know of - this is one of the
reasons gardeners have been growing it for over 100 years!
Peony 'Sarah Bernhardt'
Plant in full sun and provide a rich well drained soil. Feed lightly
in early spring with a top dressing of compost and bone meal - over feeding can cause the
plants not to bloom. When planting Peony roots place the eyes 1 1/2 - 2 inches below
the soil level. Planting the roots to deeply can cause Peonies not to produce flowers.
Water new plants frequently to help them get off to strong start - more often than
not Peonies will not flower the first year - they will spend the first season establishing
