Creamy white flower spikes growing
from clumps of grassy-like foliage. White Liatris can really bring reds to life in the
garden. It is excellent when planted with the brilliant reds available in Monarda.
White liatris tends to require staking more than the purples especially if growing
in a very rich soil or if fertilized to much.
Liatris 'alba'
Plant in full sun to very light shade. Plants are not fussy about soil
types as long as the drainage is good. Liatris are grown from corms (resemble small
bulbs) and if allowed to sit in constantly wet soil the corms will rot. Very drought
resistant.
