Rose-pink flowers with a coppery-brown
cone. Echinacea 'Magnus' is by far one of the best perennials on
the market today. This beautiful plant blooms its head off from
June all the way up to the first hard frost in October. Flower heads
are flat instead of recurved like many other selections, making
the blooms look bigger and brighter. New flowers are vivid
in color and as they age they will fade to a softer shade of pink.
Magnus was the Perennial Plant Association Plant of the year in
1998. More recently this Echinacea was trialled in England by the
Royal Horticultural Society along with 18 other varieties. Of all
the Echinacea trialled only Magnus was awarded the very prestigious
Award of Garden Merit. Plants prefer full sun and will tolerate
a wide range of garden soils but for best results amend your soil before planting.
Water plants regularly during their first growing season - after
they have established themselves they can tolerate long dry spells.
