Say hello to the
2006 Perennial Plant of the Year - Dianthus 'Firewitcch'. A very well deserved honor
for a perennial that we have been growing for years. Gardeners treasure this plant
for its spicy, clove scented flowers that appear in masses atop blue-green mats of
evergreen foliage. The flowers are a very vivid shade of magenta-pink. Firewitch blooms
heaviest in early summer or late spring then takes a short break over the summer and
blooms again in early fall. Plants are very easy to grow and basically
care-free.
