Glowing orange blooms with crimson-red
throats. Flowers are held on arching stems above spiky foliage that resembles the iris
foliage. Blooms first begin to open up in July and the plant contuse to stay in color
through most of August. We have noticed that Emily McKenzie usually does not bloom until
the second year so some patience is required for this summer flowering bulb. Plant in full
sun and in a soil that is well drained. Soils that hold to much water will cause the
corms to rot. Very easy to grow and will last for years in the garden - often survives in
gardens that have been abandoned.
