The uncommon color of
this stunning Hollyhock make it one of the most sought after Alceas, and is a must have
for collectors. Flowers are a very deep chocolate-maroon, so dark that they are nearly
black. Blooming begins in June and continues through August. Foliage is a nice deep green
and is deeply lobed. The Flower stalks range in heights from 4 - 5 feet. Plants will not
tolerate shade so plant in full sun in a well drained, highly organic soil. Fertilize in
early spring with composted manure and then again every three weeks with fish emulsion.
