This
is a very old Siberian Iris that has remained popular with gardeners down through the
years due to the simple fact that few others can compete with its deep pansy-violet color
and its amazing vigor. Caesar's Brother has a dark purple self with a yellow and
white blaze. Mature clumps often reach three feet in height and across - and is
really something to see. We highly recommend this Siberian Iris.
Siberian Iris will grow in a wide range of conditions but for best results
grow them in a moist, slightly acidic soil that has been amended with plenty of organic
materials. Plants prefer full sun but do just as well in partial shade.
Established clumps of Siberian Iris are very drought tolerant due to their deep growing
root systems - newly planted ones are not and need a good supply of water to establish
themselves. Mulch with two to three inches of pine bark to conserve soil moisture.
