Gorge Top Gardens is a family owned and operated perennial nursery located in the
Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. We have been blessed to be part of the
horticulture industry for nearly twenty years. We absolutely love what we do and
would do it for free if we didn't have to pay bills. We are by no means a large
plant "factory". We have very little automation equipment so most of our
plants are cared for the old fashioned way -- with our hands. We spend hours
dragging around water hoses, working in both the heat and the cold (and the rain, and the
snow, and the wind and in sometimes in the dark) -- while mother nature can be a joy to
work with, she sure can provide some uncomfortable conditions to work in. Our
fingernails are always dirty and our backs hurt a little more each year. We can spend
hours admiring the wildlife that perennials attract while at the same time we curse the
aphids eating our newly planted hollyhocks. We are gardeners just like you.... |
