Hostas prefer partial to full shade and a good rich garden soil that is moist but well drained. Moisture plays a crucial role in growing beautiful Hosta plants - you will need to water plants during prolonged dry spells. Feed in very early spring with a top dressing of composted manure and bone meal. Liquid feed at least twice during the growing season with seaweed extract or fish emulsion. Probably the most popular gold
Hosta on the market. Gold Standard has large heart shaped leaves that emerge a light
shade of greenish-yellow in spring and then turn golden yellow as the season progresses.
Leaves have narrow dark green margins that frame the shape of the leaves nicely.
It is important when planting Gold Standard to locate it in a spot that receives
that right amount of light. Leaves need some morning sun to bring the rich golden color
out. If planted in to much sun the leaves will burn. Highly recommended.
